Clinical waste ties have been designed to give secure sealing of clinical waste sacks for a comprehensive audit trail which allows tracking back to the hospital and the department which applied the seal. The audit trail is achieved by printing the waste ties with hospital name and/or telephone number, which provides first stage traceability, and a sequential serial number which allows the clinical waste bag to be tracked to the department of origin.
